Celtic
Ways is presented by John Willmott
Thank you so much for exploring my web
sites.
I write a series of guides under the
name of "Following Celtic Ways".
This puts together my collection
of photographs and stories I pick up on my travels
and presents them into a theme that
readers can follow and explore for themselves.
To support my writings I provide some
web sites
and I am often booked as guide,
presenter and story teller.
To fulfil Celtic Ways services and enquiries
I also link to the services of wonderful guides, co-ordinators and performers
such as Rev. Marcus Losack, Claire Roche, Regina Roman, Seamus Byrne and
several others.
It all started when I was about 6 years
old and found an ancient passage tomb cairn in the woods that I would hide
and dream in. My career started with music and theatre that I would steer
towards including ancient stories, sacred plays, mummers plays and circle
performances wherever possible. Visualization also fascinated me, personal
theatre that reveals and solves so much.
By almost accident I moved into stone
masonry and ancient site preservation working mainly on Iona within the
Reilig Oran, Nunnery and Abbey. During these stone working years
I also provided articles and columns on various Celtic subjects that were
published by British newspapers and magazines. These writing interests
developed into running a publishing company along with presenting workshops
on various astro-archeaology, ancient astrology and Celtic mythology topics.
After a bout of illness, that was largely
relieved through diet changes, I ventured into taking a degree in food
science and then emigrated from Scotland to the USA. Again, almost by accident,
I worked for several years in the USA as a catering contractor.
Within my catering work I discovered
success selling both Christian and Celtic music through Florida's cafes,
long before Starbucks did. This enterprise moved onto the internet and
attracted many music buyers to enquire about the Celtic countries, their
traditions, legends, cultures, ancient history and Celtic Christianity.
Realizing I was really in the wrong country I returned to Scotland, but
was very quickly "called" to Ireland.
For the last few years I have travelled
and explored many hidden places around all of Ireland and finally settled
in Co. Sligo. Around Co. Sligo and its nearby counties of Leitrim, Roscommon,
Fermanagh and Donegal there is an incredible abundance of ancient and spiritual
sites that could take me years to explore.
I am thrilled to be able to present
and share all of the things that you now view and will view on the Celtic
Ways suite of web sites, linked above, as well as obtain through the Celtic
Ways Market |
